Jehona Gjurgjeala – founder and Executive Director

Jehona has a proven record in strategy development, management and execution in both profit and non-profit enterprises. Jehona has recently returned to her native Kosovo to start up TOKA – an organisation that aims to improve Kosovar society by investing in the education of its youth. In her previous role as Director of Product Marketing at Egencia (an Expedia Inc Company) she led many large-scale commercial projects of high impact for the business globally. As Executive Director of Oxford Leadership Academy (OLA), Jehona was responsible for growing the consultancy and its network, including opening the Oxford office.

A graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science, Jehona also has extensive experience in the non-profit sector, in both research and grassroots projects. Her most prized work with OLA was collaborating with the Girls Scouts USA in developing a leadership programme for young adults. Jehona’s research formed part of several papers published by the International Crisis Group, Kosova. She is also the author “How do women vote?” – a study of political awareness and participation of women in Kosova. She is a recipient of the prestigious British Council Chevening Scholarship.

Jehona is committed to finding the right formula that will combine the most valuable aspects of the profit-making sector and the non-profit sector – to provide sustainable benefit to people and the planet.

Fidan Cerkini   

Fidan Çerkini – Finance Officer

Fidan has graduated from the University of Prishtina Faculty of Economics, Management and Informatics field. Now he is doing his master studies in the field of Economics at University of Prishtina. Fidan has more than six years of experience in financial, office and project management. He also attended various financial management, reporting and accounting trainings. Despite the field that he is specializing in, he also attended various extracurricular student activities, training and conferences, including his representation of the University of Prishtina in the Harvard National Model United Nations, student’s conference at the Harvard University.

Rachel Morgan  Program Developer and Trainer

Rachel has over four years of experience developing specialised experiential education programs. Her most recent work includes designing and leading outdoor education programs for groups of children with chronic illnesses ages 7-17 at the Brigadoon Children’s Camp Society, Canada. She is trained in Red Cross CPR & First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid. She also has a degree in International Development Studies and a Certificate in Intercultural Communications from Dalhousie University, Canada.

Renea Behluli  – Project Coordinator

Renea has been working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo for two years – as the Germia Hill Conference Coordinator, Interfaith Event Coordinator, General Secretary  Office Coordinator and Visa Centre Coordinator. After finishing her bachelor studies in Public Policy and Economics at the American University in Kosovo (AUK), she was also a part of the Kosovo Basic Education Program (jointly funded by USAID and the Government of Kosovo) – working more intensively at the Assessment Component. During her studies, she also worked as an Academic Advisor at AUK and Research Assistant in other projects related to her field of study.


Suzanne Sontag

Project and Development Coordinator

Previously, Suzanne worked as an AmeriCorps Service Member in Iowa providing k-3rd grade literacy tutoring. She also developed and implemented a 5-week literacy enrichment summer program. Simultaneously, Suzanne had the opportunity to work as a resident assistant to children with special health care needs. She is certified in CPR and First Aid, mandatory reporting, and trained in special health issues. Suzanne also has professional experience working as a programming intern at the Iowa International Center.

During her studies, Suzanne spent two summers working as a camp counselor with the YMCA camp in Boone, IA. After returning from a semester abroad in Istanbul, Suzanne had the opportunity to work as an Advisor to students at the Study Abroad Office at the University of Northern Iowa. Suzanne completed her bachelor studies in Psychology and Global Studies.
