TOKA, in cooperation with the Faculty of Education, University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, organized a training session on the methodology of “Learning Through Experience” The methodology of “Experiential Learning” is aimed at raising the capacities of primary school teachers on the use of efficient teaching methodologies and improving the learning process.
During the 2 days of practical training, teachers learned about the methodology, received dozens of activities for them to include in their lessons and also received the module (book) about the methodology. After the training, all teachers will also have direct support from their mentors during their class sessions in which they will use the Experiential Learning methodology. All teachers were certified in the program which is in the process of being accredited by MESTI,
“The fact that we received nearly 500 applications for participating in this training from teachers from all over Kosovo, shows that there is huge interest in this methodology from education professionals. It was truly gratifying to see teachers so committed to learning new teaching and learning practices that they will use in their classrooms. All of this will result in more capable students. ” – said Rreze Hoxha, manager of the Institutionalism Program at TOKA.
The Institutionalization Program of the TOKA organization – during 3 years of partnership with the Faculty of Education – has developed numerous programs on this methodology, with over 100 teachers being part of the program so far. The programs have shown promising results, with over 80% of students and teachers who have practiced this methodology saying that they are “very satisfied” with the program.
This project is supported by the European Union Office in Kosovo.
