In Argentina, part of the World Seminar on Service Learning

For two days, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, over 1,000 teachers, educators, and other education professionals gathered at the 25th edition of the “International Seminar on Solidarity and Educational Volunteerism” organized by CLAYSS (Center for Educational Volunteerism in Latin American). Through discussion panels, workshops, other events, the Seminar aimed to promote educational volunteerism and share best practices among participants.

From TOKA, which is a member of the Network of Educational Voluntary Organizations of Eastern Europe supported by CLAYSS, the Leader of the Educational Voluntary Program, Hatixe Zeka, participated, who in the framework of the workshop with the theme, “Civil societies as an opportunity to implemented educational volunteering projects”, presented the TOKA model and the implementation of educational volunteering in Kosovo for the last 5 years.

“I have learned a lot from colleagues here, who have been involved in educational volunteering for a long time. But at the same time, others also learned from our experience, which I shared with others, who were quite interested in learning about our experience” – said Hatixe Zeka, leader of the Educational Volunteering Program at TOKA . As part of the seminar, there were also representatives of the Network of Educational Volunteerism of Eastern Europe, where, in addition to Kosovo, there were also representatives from Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Educational Volunteering Program of the TOKA organization aims to involve Kosovar youth in voluntary work, where at the same time, they will acquire new knowledge, values ​​and skills such as critical thinking, communication, problem solving, social skills , decision-making, leadership and increasing self-confidence and awareness for active citizenship.

This project is supported by the European Union Office in Kosovo, EIDHR program.

CLAYSS (Latin American Center for Solidarity Learning and Service) as a vision has to move forward to form inclusive societies, educational systems and social organizations that contribute to a complete education for an active, solidary citizenry and engaged in caring for others .
