GIRL POWER UP! PREPARES GIRLS FOR THE JOB MARKET!

March 27, 2019

Through the Girl Power UP! project we have engaged around 400 girls from the rural areas of Kosovo to develop new soft skills that will increase their chances of finding and getting a job they want.

Girl Power UP! is an after-school training program training program for grade 9-11 adolescent schoolgirls from the rural areas of Drenas, Suharekë, Fushë Kosovë, Lipjan and Shalë.

The program is designed so that after the 3 months-training the participants develop new soft skills, get a self-confidence boost, and are offered guidance in career orientation.

The goal of the project is to empower these girls to be more resilient from societal pressures, as well as close the skill gap that is preventing them from maximizing their opportunities in the labor market, and society in general.
